There are 2 main types of differential pressure gauges: Mechanical and digital ones. 

The differential pressure gauge installation method is the problem encountered by many engineers. Differential pressure gauges are one of the popular products of VCR. Digital differential pressure gauge applications

Working principle

Digital differential pressure gauges working principle is different from mechanical differential pressure gauges. The AC and DC power supplies play a major role in digital differential pressure gauges. The switching circuit or AC is converted to DC. The pressure is measured and sent to the sensor diaphragm, which senses the pressure, based on which an electrical signal is generated to reach the computer or smartphone. These gauges have a small LCD display.

Pressure connection installation process

  • Positive pressure measurement:

        Connect the pipe to the hole “high pressure” at the back of the meter and block the other high-pressure hole.

         Expose two holes “low pressure” to the atmosphere

 

  • Negative pressure measurement: 

        Connect the pipe to the hole “low pressure” at the back of the meter and block the other low-pressure hole.

        Expose two holes “high pressure” to the atmosphere

 

  • Differential pressure measurement: 

        Connect the pipe to the hole “high pressure” at the back of the meter and block the other high-pressure hole. 

        Connect the pipe to the hole “low pressure” at the back of the meter and block the other low-pressure hole.
